Minutes from the March 2, 2008 meeting were read by Dan Saikkonen.  Motion to accept the minutes made by Myles Horton and 2nd by Jeannie Carley, carried.

Treasurer’s report was read by Joanne Jones (which includes a profit from the FLAC Spring Dance of $219.00). Motion to accept report made by Dan Saikkonen, 2nd by Don Greenmun, carried.

Coordinator:  Dan reported a loss of $323.04. With this being the Summer issue, Ads are down. Plus, a Club wanted to place 2 full page ads, that would have given an additional $50 income. However, they didn’t make contact until 2 weeks past the deadline. Dan has not had the opportunity to check with other publishers to see if it can be published any cheaper. Joanne Jones commented that The Coordinator has never broken even, and it was never the intention. This is a Club Membership Service, offset by FLAC dues. Dan was thanked for a great job!

Old Business: Jack Kilmer asked if the previous FLAC Dances, using outside Callers (non-FLAC), if the profits have come close to that of the last dance using a FLAC Caller/Cuer? Discussion followed; there are more variables then just the cost of the Caller/Cuer that affect the net results. The fees paid to the Caller/Cuer are negotiated by the Host Clubs. Jeannie Carley had question on dates & times of the FLAC Presidents Ball ‘09: The 5th Saturday is preferred, it can be anytime from September – November. The benefit of 5th Saturday Dances, are that no other Clubs have dances then. They can be either Saturday night 7:00-8:00 Early Rounds, 8:00-10:30 2X2 Dance, or Sunday 2:00-3:00 Early Rounds, 3:00-5:30 2X2 Dance.

The FLAC Presidents Ball is scheduled to be held October 19, 2008.

New Business: Myles Horton made a motion for setting the donation for FLAC Dances. After discussion it was agreed at $10/couple, $5/person, 2nd by Jack Kilmer, carried.

Club Rotation for Nominating Committee: Reviewed previous determination that the Committee would consist of two FLAC Clubs on the Rotation List, and that if they could not fill the Board positions, they would assume those unfilled. Dan agreed to provide an updated Rotation List. Jack Kilmer made the motion to accept the present Board as the incoming Slate. The Board members present accepted and thought that Barb Mosher would continue on as Secretary. 2nd by Myles Horton, carried.

Gerry Brown asked how much the Church was charging for the use of the hall. Claire Horton said it is $20. She also stated that we could use it for the same price to hold a dance. Gerry said that she had gone to the Church scheduled to hold the FLAC Presidents Ball October 19th, and there are some missing floor tiles. Claire said she would check the St Charles Church to see if it would be available for this upcoming dance.

Don Greenmun asked if the FLAC Manual could be placed on the FLAC Website (www.SquareDanceFingerLakes.info)? That way everyone would have access to the most current version. Dan will get a copy of the disc that Myles Horton & Al Hanning had put together, and make the updates to that. Dan will try to have an update to present the Board at the next meeting. Joanne Jones offered to help with any typing.

Motion made to adjourn  at 3:25 PM by Jack Kilmer, 2nd by Herbert Brown.

The next meeting will be October 5, 2008 at 2:30.
